Sandra Acevedo, Co-Owner of Seniors Helping Seniors Northern Colorado, has spent over 13 years serving older adults—but her path into this work began much earlier, shaped by the example of her father.
In Colombia, her father, a retired physician, would bring homeless seniors in from the streets—offering them medical care, meals, clothing, and a place to stay. It wasn’t something he had to do. It was simply who he was.
That example stayed with Sandra.
Today, she carries that same belief forward—that caring for seniors is not just about meeting needs, but about honoring people with dignity, compassion, and purpose.
With a background as a clinical psychologist, Sandra brings both emotional insight and practical understanding to her work. She recognizes that while families often see aging as complicated or overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be experienced that way. With the right support, this stage of life can still be meaningful, engaging, and full of connection.
At Seniors Helping Seniors, Sandra is deeply committed to preserving the organization’s mission in every decision. She believes the model works because it is rooted in shared life experience—caregivers who are seniors themselves, offering understanding, empathy, and genuine connection.
Families feel the difference.
They see it in the trust that builds more quickly, the relationships that feel more natural, and the reassurance that their loved one is in capable, compassionate hands.
For Sandra, this work is more than a profession.
It is a calling—one she believes she was meant to follow.
Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to every senior.
